A few recent reviews from guests on holiday and business
"Still Top Notch ...This is our second visit to St Mary's - and the standards are as high as ever. We stayed in the Garden Suite as before, and you would never know that a year had passed, it was as fresh and clean as if we'd simply been out for the day. I look forward to a visit same time next year!" 11th October 2011
"Fabulous - highly recommended ...We stayed here as an alternative after a previous disaster near here and my word what a difference. The room was large and beautifully furnished, a definite 5 stars. Ample parking and is only a short walk into town. Stay here and you won't be disappointed." 14th September 2011
"“Just keeps getting better ...It's been 8 months since my last visit and the Tower Room has been reinvented into the "Tower Suite". The power shower is the perfect way to start the day before sitting down to one of Joan's delicious breakfasts. I was staying on business this time and the free wifi throughout was a godsend - fast connection and ample places to work, including the light, comfortable guest lounge and the wifi even works in the garden!" 7th August 2011
"Hampshire Gem ...I rarely stay in B&Bs and was incredibly impressed with St Mary’s Hall. More like a Boutique B&B versus what I generally think of B&Bs. The room was immaculate and finished to a very high (5* hotel) standard. The breakfast and Joan’s company were also an additional delight. Thank you for a lovely stay." ... 21st July 2011
"The finest gem in Hampshire ...Stayed at St. Mary's for three days on business, and when I next travel to Hampshire I will be sure to book well in advance for this superlative B&B." 1st July 2011"
"The best B&B we've ever stayed in ...visit Jane Austen’s house in nearby Chawton, and St Mary’s was the perfect base for doing so. As Chawton was only a short (and scenic) walk away, we didn’t need to drive at all during our visit." 6th June 2011
"Home away from home! ...We followed the Jane Austen trail and walked all through Chawton and from the B&B we could walk all through Alton as well and visit all the places that would have been familiar to Jane Austen." 13th May 2011
"Superb. Be like me and join the St Mary's Hall fan club... As one of the business types that stays in hotels on average 3-4 times a week, I thought I'd try out St Mary's Hall after a disappointing stay at one of the hotels in Alton on a previous visit and I can't emphasise enough what a jewel I've found. If you ever need somewhere to stay in the Alton area, forget the faceless corporate establishments for a night and treat yourself to St Mary's Hall." 5th May 20011
"Perfect B&B for visiting mid Hampshire ... Joan and Jack provided the warmest of welcomes and we couldn't have been happier with the accommodation - a charming exterior in a quiet street, while inside all is luxurious and spotless with everything you can think of for comfort and convenience. We stayed in the Garden Suite, walked to the nearby French Horn pub for dinner and enjoyed a great night's sleep. Next morning Joan served us a delicious breakfast while Jack helped us plan our day's activities." 17th April 2011
